Meet The Guide

Hi, I'm Anya!

I am an ecologist, trail runner, cat and chicken mom, and a science nerd by profession. Nature has always been my way to decompress and find life balance, creativity, and inspiration. My goal is to help you explore the simple yet profound benefits that a bit of time in nature may offer.

I am a certified guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy and also trained in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. I look forward to meeting you on a future walk!

What is viburnum?
Viburnum (vai-BUR-nuhm) is a family of beautiful flowering shrubs also known as guelder rose. But for me, this plant has a larger meaning. Red viburnum is a symbol of rebirth and, since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a renewed symbol of Ukrainian nationhood and independence.

Ukraine is my birthplace and so I chose viburnum to honor her and the courage her people are showing to the world. A portion of the annual proceeds will be donated to charities working with Ukrainians impacted by this senseless war.
